ICEBERG Fall/Winter 2010-2011

A fun and super-colorful world has inspired the Fall/Winter 2010-2011 Ice Iceberg collection. The Iceberg boy’s line pays tribute to one of the long-standing favorites of the Gilmar group’s flagship brand: Pop. And the most immediate and evident expression of this inspiration are the colors: black and white combine with strong and vibrant colors like fuchsia, navy blue and fluorescent tones, making for a winter that is joyful, sporty and, at the same time, clear-cut. The fabrics play this same mix-and-match game: intrepid outerwear in technical fabrics and denim with special washes make their appearance alongside minidresses in wool knit, taffeta and fur. Cartoon prints inspired by 1980s graphics are another leitmotif of the Iceberg style and one of the stars is a fun Bugs Bunny, who makes an appearance as a macro inlay on flowing knit dresses with batwing sleeves or on ribbed sweaters. He shows up as a ton-sur-ton appliqué on the back of sweatshirts and outerwear and also appears on T-shirts as a shiny or multicolor print or embellished with rhinestones.
Combinations of blue, red, off-white and bottle green inspire “Back to School,” another one of the collection’s main themes, featuring fabrics like plaid cloth and tartan flannel, prints embroidered with crests of crowns, and T-shirts and sweatshirts that coordinate with nylon parkas, jersey sweatsuits with taffeta details and colored gabardine pants.
Knitwear plays a leading role in the collection, with great attention to volumes and workmanship, and once again tradition goes hand-in-hand with experimentation and innovation, resulting in unusual solutions such as the reversible down jacket with a knit lining or the fabric and knit dress.
